You have a product or brand. Your marketing budget is non-existent. How can you get people talking about and sharing your brand with friends and colleagues?

I've been reading the book Contagious: Why Things Catch On by Jonah Berger, and it outlines 6 factors that makes things go viral. In this article, I'll share with you my thoughts on the 3rd chapter - Emotion.

People will share things that arouse them.

This can be done emotionally, by provoking emotions such as anger, humour, and excitement. In contrast, emotions like contentment and sadness cause less arousal and are less likely to be shared.

Or something super-cute...

Or just make the readers feel in awe...

This can also be done physiologically, where people are more likely to share after exercising.

So get your readers laughing, their blood pumping, and they're much more likely to share!
