Contagious - Why Things Catch On

You have a product or brand. Your marketing budget is non-existent. How can you get people talking about and sharing your brand with friends and colleagues?

Well, I've been reading the book Contagious: Why Things Catch On by Jonah Berger, and it outlines 6 factors that makes things go viral. Personally, I feel this is one of the best book to read if you're in to growth hacking.

In this series, I will go over each of the six chapters - Social Currency, Triggers, Emotion, Public, Practical Value, and Stories and tell you my thoughts on each one. I've also analysed an example of something I've been doing that caught a bit of fire.

There's even a summary at the end to wrap things up, which you can go to now for a quick overview, and go back to later to remind yourself of the key points.

  1. Social Currency
  2. Triggers
  3. Emotion
  4. Public
  5. Practical Value
  6. Stories
  7. My Example
  8. Summary
